What is Pulse Firing?

Pulse firing is a specialised feature of our burners that offers significant benefits over more traditional incineration methods. It is sometimes also referred to as the Eco Cycle but effectively they provide the same function.

At Waste Spectrum we work with our customers to maximise the fuel efficiency of their machine so the pulse or eco cycle system comes as standard in our incinerators.

How Does it Work?

The system cycles the burners from high to low temperatures in order to meet the heat demand.

Advantages to Pulse Firing

The system cycles the burners from high to low temperatures in order to meet the heat demand.

Pulse firing allows for maximum heat transfer with minimum fuel input.

The system also enables temperature uniformity that can only be matched by a Fuel-Only Control system, yet it still offers far greater levels of efficiency as less fuel is wasted heating up large volumes of air.

In addition, Pulse Firing systems minimise levels of NOx emissions when compared to more conventional methods as the high-velocity flame entrains the maximum amount of furnace gases for more complete mixing and lower peak flame temperatures.

All of these advantages ensure maximum efficiency and flexibility within the shortest space of time for your system. We have seen heat transfer efficiency improvements of over 30% when using pulse firing as opposed to other methods.
